After having a long break from Photography, here I am back on my feet and shooting. This time, I will be starting off with another new series. I call this the “Candle Devotion” series. In some way, this will also serve as a tribute to the ill-fated victims of the hostage drama that took place in Manila last Monday, August 23.
To start with this series, I gave this first part the title “Togetherness”. This is just a simple shot from a box of candles that I took at the Basilica de Sto. Nino in Cebu.
I simply thought of starting this series with a collective sense. So, why being together? Simply because being with the people close to you might be one of the best moments of your life. When you have your friends, family and colleagues to share every minute of your life. They are the people whom we share our lives with, have fun together, and people we spend it to share our blessings and our life. In a more profound sense, this is also of how we treat each other and what and who we are with each other. Of what is happenning to the world and especially in the Philippines, this calls for unity and togetherness amongst each one of us. It is in this way that we call each other to be a comrade to one another.
